On December 17, Billboard released the critics' picks on the 20 best K-pop songs of 2018. Citing the media, "the top 20 list is a compilation of the greatest K-pop songs from a year marked by loss, new beginnings, and stratospheric accomplishments." The list was not limited to genre, solo/group, and idol/non-idol.
