According to Yonhap News, Oricon surveyed 20,000 people from October 29 to November 15 and revealed its 2018 Favorite Artist ranking on December 24.
Out of the 50 artists that were presented, TWICE was the only Korean artist to make the ranking. In the survey focusing on only female artists, TWICE took No. 9, and in the rankings by generation, TWICE took No. 6 for artists people in their teens like.
TWICE is being recognized as the group that reignited the third generation Hallyu Wave in Japan. This year, TWICE ranked No. 1 on Japanese CD retailer Tower Records’ list of best-selling Korean albums of 2018 with their first Japanese studio album “BDZ,” and they charted No. 8 on Oricon’s Top Album Rankings. Their single album “Wake Me Up” also received the Excellent Work Award on the 60th Japan Record Awards.
